Gener's Gone: The Final Demo Recordings of Gene Ween (2009–2011) is a EP by Aaron Freeman (at the time formerly known as Gene Ween) released on Bandcamp on November 15, 2013.[1]

Overview[edit | edit source]

The demos that make up Gener's Gone were recorded between 2009 and 2011, when Ween was still together and touring. It was released because Aaron was in a dire financial state at the time, as he had left Ween to focus on rehab for drug and alcohol abuse.[2][1] This was Aaron's second solo release under his real name, the first being Marvelous Clouds in May 2012.[3]

Despite recording beginning in 2009, most of the songs were performed by Gener as early as 2006. "Gener's Gone" and "Baby Don't Be Afraid" were initially performed on 06/25/2006 at Joe's Pub,[4] "Stay With Me Daddy" was performed twice with the Gene Ween Band in December 2008,[5] and "Deep Calm" was performed throughout 2009 with the Gene Ween Band and in 2011.[6]
