As with many of the Craters of the Sac songs, the exact recording date of "Big Fat Fuck" is unknown, but it is thought to have been recorded sometime around 1996. The song was originally released semi-officially online as part of Craters of the Sac in 1999, with the original uncut rough mix clocking in at 7:03 in length. Years later, in 2005, a remixed and significantly shortened version was officially released on the odds-and-ends compilation Shinola, Vol. 1. "Big Fat Fuck" is not known to have ever been played live, though it has been mention once live in 1996, implying the song dates to sometime during The Mollusk era.[1]
