Song Details[edit | edit source]
Recording and Composition[edit | edit source]
"The Stallion Pt. 1" is a heavily experimental industrial rock song. The studio version of the song is within the key of F# major, while live performances transpose it down to E major.
The lead vocals are sung by Gene Ween.
"The Stallion Pt. 1" appears on the Big Timmy Wasserman demo tape.
Live Performances[edit | edit source]
"The Stallion Pt. 1", like its Pod counterpart "The Stallion Pt. 2", had a long gestation period before being played live. Although it was played semi-"live" for an Internet stream at a sound studio on 7/22/2003 (a recording of which appears on the All Request Live album), it was not actually debuted before an in-person live audience until after the 2016 Ween reunion. However, since then it has been quite commonly played.[2] Notably, prior to its proper Ween debut, the song was played several times by Gene Ween's solo group Freeman in 2014 during the Ween hiatus.[3]
