All Request Live is a live album by Ween, released on December 2, 2003 on Chocodog Records.
Description and History[edit | edit source]
The album is a complete recording of a single, roughly 65-minute performance for a live Internet stream on July 22nd, 2003 during the Quebec tour; there was no live audience physically present during the performance at Greg & Pat Frey's Graphic Sound Studio in Ringoes, NJ. It was streamed via WeenRadio, a website that broadcast Ween music over the internet twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.[1]
The performance is unique in that the setlist was selected by fans online through a Ween Forum Poll[2], resulting in an unusual set with a number of songs that had rarely or never been played previously, including the entire Stallion pentology and their rejected Pizza Hut jingle, "Where'd the Cheese Go?". It was chosen for release as they felt the performance was "on par with an actual studio album."[3] As such, the band's management and WeenRadio asked fans not trade recordings of the broadcast afterwards.[4]
Pre-orders began in late November 2003 as a limited edition release,[5] and copies were in Ween's hands on November 22, a day before they left for their European tour.[6] It would be officially released on December 2, 2003.[7]
Video of "The Stallion Pt. 3" shot by Pat Frey was included as a bonus on the release, although the original stream was audio only.[8]
