Song Details[edit | edit source]

"Did You See Me?" was originally recorded in 1995 during the first beach house recording sessions for The Mollusk; this demo would later be semi-officially released in 2007 as part of The Mollusk Sessions. A rough mix of this recording was leaked at some point in 1998 or early 1997, albeit in low quality.[1] Years later, in 2005, a remixed version was officially released on the odds-and-ends compilation Shinola, Vol. 1, with a new lead vocal overdub.

The lead vocals are sung by Gene Ween.

Live Performances[edit | edit source]

"Did You See Me?" was not played live prior to Shinola, but after the release of that album it quickly entered regular rotation, and has remained there ever since.[2] It was also played by the Dean Ween Group during the Ween hiatus, in particular in 2015 when it was a regular part of the set.[3] In addition, Gene Ween played it once at a solo acoustic show in 2009.[4]

Lyrics[edit | edit source]

Did you see me?
Come down on the sand and sea
Believe me

Did you see me?
Waving it free in the tree
Believe me

Did you see me?
Flying through the galaxy
Believe me
Did you see me?
Waving it free in the tree
Believe me
Did you see me?
Come down on the sand and sea
Believe me[5]
